Brick and mortar casinos may offer free drinks to gamblers, but online casinos offer plenty of other bonuses. Most online casinos offer a cash bonus after sign-up as an incentive to join. Usually, the bonus has strings attached so you have to be careful. Always read the fine print on any bonus before accepting it. Here are some different types of bonuses you should know when gambling online:
Match Bonus – This is the most common type of bonus for an initial deposit. The online casino matches a certain percentage of your deposit. The match could be 25%, 50% or 100%, for example. Most match bonuses offer a 100% match on your first deposit worth up to a certain amount. The amount fluctuates with the promotion the online gambling site is using at that time. Sometimes, you can get an equal or lesser match, such as 50%, on your next few deposits as well.
Cashable Bonus – This bonus requires you to meet certain wager requirements, such as bet amounts or only playing on certain games. You must play through to these wager requirements before cashing out the free bonus money.
Sticky Bonus – The bonus itself is not allowed to be withdrawn but any winnings from playing the sticky bonus is.
Cash Back Bonus – These are hard to find, but are offered following a loss. A portion of the stake is returned, usually as cash. It depends on the promotion, but an online casino might offer a 20% cash back bonus each week. In that scenario, if you had a loss over the span of the week, you would get 20% of your losses back. Overall winners are not eligible for the bonus.
Comp Points – Online casino comp points aren’t as lavish as free rooms like those that brick and mortar casinos offer, but the points can be exchanged for cash, prizes, etc. The amount of points varies with the game and is generally minimal per wager. For example, an online casino may offer two comp points for every $10 blackjack bet and one comp point for every $10 roulette bet. A dollar value will be assigned to comp points, like $1 for every 100 points. This is equal to a return of 0.2 % on blackjack and 0.1% on roulette.
Loyalty Rewards – Most of these return around $10 free for each $10,000 played. It may sound like it’s not worth it, but the reward is earned on every win or loss wagered, so it doesn’t take that long to accumulate for the avid gambler. Some online casinos offer different loyalty levels with benefits and offer a birthday bonus.
